Staff Spotlight -  Wesley Spearing

Wesley Spearing is a fantastic example of what’s possible in a business built on true meritocracy. Joining us in 2010, Wesley began his journey as a Customer Service Advisor within our B2C brand, Forbes Rentals. With a great sense of humour, a strong work ethic, and a highly personable, outgoing nature, he has consistently progressed through the business while building strong relationships with colleagues and customers alike.

After moving into the role of Customer Care Supervisor and then Assistant Manager, Wesley is now our Commercial Customer Service Manager, a position he has held for the past two years. In this role, he leads service operations for our B2B brand, Forbes Professional, overseeing commercial laundry and catering clients and managing engineer response across a diverse and demanding customer base.

No two days are ever the same. One moment Wesley could be supporting a hotelier, the next a school janitor, a care home manager, or a shared accommodation provider. It’s a fast-paced, highly reactive role - and one that perfectly suits his calm, organised approach, strong communication skills, and natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Reflecting on his career and the variety of his role, Wesley says:

“Working for a family business like Forbes really means something -  you’re trusted, supported, and encouraged to grow. I love the variety of my role; no two days are the same, and that is what keeps it so rewarding.”

Over his 16 years with the business, Wesley has witnessed, and helped drive, huge developments in customer service. Faster response times, improved remote diagnostics, and the introduction of connected solutions now allow us to offer more proactive, preventative maintenance. This not only reduces downtime for clients but also enables the service team to monitor performance more effectively, reinforcing our multi-award-winning customer service proposition.

Kevin Herring, CEO, comments:

“Wesley embodies the very best of Forbes - commitment, leadership, and an ability to adapt as our business and technology evolve. He’s highly respected by both colleagues and clients, and his positive attitude, personable nature, and sense of humour make a real difference every day.”

Wesley is married to Laura Spearing, our Business Development Manager, and is a popular, sociable, and outgoing member of the team. He’s always keen to get involved and is a passionate supporter of our ESG initiatives - particularly in supporting Demelza Charity wherever he can.

As we journey through our Centenary year, we’re reminded that it’s our people who have shaped our company. Wesley is undoubtedly one of those key figures: a strong leader, an exceptional communicator, and a brilliant problem solver who continues to make a lasting impact on Forbes.
