Forbes provides a complete laundry solution for leading preparatory school.

Forbes Professional works with a number of schools and colleges and were delighted to recently expand our contract with a leading preparatory school. We were originally approached in 2020 by school the Bursar, wanting to set up a reliable service contract for the school’s laundry facility.  Having previously worked with Forbes whilst he was the bursar of another school, he was very familiar with the benefits of our service support and was keen to implement a similar contract. Since that point, we have supported the school with an annual maintenance agreement for their Miele commercial laundry equipment, as well as providing them with all of their chemical laundry detergents.

In May 2022, the school contacted Forbes to say that they had been extremely pleased with our service and wished to extend their contract by adding on additional laundry machines for a satellite laundry room. Our Chief Commercial Engineer conducted a survey and discussed the installation of stacked pairs of washer/ dryers, taking into consideration the volumes of washing processed and the space available. The school required optimal speed and quality of wash from their laundry machines and stacked pairs of Miele PWT6089 9kg washers and PT7189 9kg dryers presented as the best machine configuration. These commercial laundry machines are robust and durable whilst being both water and energy efficient. With an impressive turn around time of 94 minutes for a cotton wash and dry they deliver the requisite fast turnaround whilst ensuring a precision clean after each cycle.  At the same time, the patented honey-comb drum will ensure that the uniform fabric is well protected whilst in the drum.

Forbes also arranged to supply auto-dosing pumps as well as continuing to manage all of the school’s chemical detergent provision. Auto-dosing machines are a great option for streamlining the laundry process and eliminating waste. When combined with our Miele commercial laundry equipment they provide an extremely user friendly solution for a busy laundry function.  Our team of specialist engineers fully installed and commissioned all of the equipment in one day and at a time to suit the school. All of the equipment is supported by a comprehensive maintenance agreement which will provide them with a highly responsive engineer response and a swift replacement of any requisite replacement parts.
