In these extraordinary times, Forbes is thankful to be able to share some good news. Last week we acquired the rental accounts from Claridge Electricals of Walsall. They were a well-established and highly regarded company that provided TVs and appliances to the consumer and commercial markets in their local area.
The acquired commercial accounts will be absorbed into our commercial operation, Forbes Professional. This division works across a number of sectors and our expansive fleet of qualified engineers look after a wide range of commercial laundry appliances, including Miele, Maytag and Primus. Each account will be allocated a dedicated account manager and will benefit from our centralised and streamlined support going forwards. The new consumer business will be looked after by our Forbes Rentals brand, which provides an agile offering of home and electrical appliances with an unrivalled same/next day service. With the move augmenting our growth plan for both business areas, our experienced teams will enable a straightforward integration.
We are contacting each of our newly acquired customers and clients to welcome them to our company, and will be ensuring a smooth transition for all concerned. Whilst we are a national operation, we will be providing a local-based engineer response, led by our multi-award winning customer service teams. As a family-owned company we maintain the traditional company values established by our founder, Frederick Donald Forbes, when he opened our doors in 1926. Whilst, after nearly 100 years of operation, our company has evolved considerably, we have always strongly believed in delivering a personal service. We make it our business to develop long-standing relationships with our customers and clients, guiding them through the latest technological advances.
Alongside the substantial organic growth that we have achieved over the years, acquisitions are a key element of our business development strategy. We have now seamlessly purchased and absorbed the contracts from over 50 companies and are delighted with this latest expansion. Stephen Edwards, our Finance Director who heads our merger and acquisitions and says ‘Claridge Electricals had developed a sizable local business, and their 1451 accounts are an exciting addition to our business. We welcome aboard our newly acquired clients and customers and wish to assure them that we will provide them with the first-class support that they will expect.’
