A Fond Farewell to Ian Russell- Celebrating 18 Years at Forbes

After an incredible 18-year journey, one of our esteemed National Account Managers, Ian Russell, will be retiring at the end of August 2025. It’s with pride and heartfelt gratitude that we bid farewell to a much valued member of our commercial team- someone whose contributions have left a lasting mark on our business and our clients.

Ian joined Forbes in 2007, following his wife and fellow National Account Manager, Gill Russell. He brought with him a wealth of experience from previous roles at Arcadia, BHS, and Selfridges, and quickly became an integral part of our team. Over the years, Ian carved out a niche in hospitality TV and AV solutions, while also expanding our commercial laundry provision.

A true industry figurehead, Ian is known for his personable nature, quick wit, and infectious warmth and enthusiasm. Whether at exhibitions or client meetings, his presence has always been a highlight. He’s cultivated enduring relationships with clients, industry peers, and manufacturers such as Philips, Samsung, LG, and Miele - not to mention the many colleagues who have had the pleasure of working alongside him.

Forbes CEO Kevin Herring shared his thoughts:

“Ian’s passion and dedication have been instrumental in shaping our presence in the hospitality and healthcare industries. He is more than just a colleague—he is a friend to many and a true professional. His expertise and wit will be sorely missed, and we wish him all the very best in his retirement.”

Ian’s deep expertise in hospitality TV solutions has guided countless clients through innovations in IPTV, guest information channels, and digital signage. His legacy is one of professionalism, passion, and genuine care.

Ian reflected on his time at Forbes:

“It has been an absolute honour to be part of Forbes for the last 18 years. I've had the pleasure of working with an amazing team and building some fantastic relationships with our clients. While I am looking forward to retirement, and spending more time with grandchildren, I will miss everyone greatly. I am leaving the business in a fantastic position, and I look forward to keeping up with everyone at future events!”

Although Ian is stepping away from his role, this is far from a final goodbye. With Gill continuing her work at Forbes, we’re sure to see Ian again very soon.

From all of us at Forbes - thank you, Ian, for your dedication, your warmth, and the incredible legacy you leave behind.
