Celebrating 18 Years of Dedication: Bill Miller Retires as Wigan Depot Manager

After nearly two decades of exceptional service, Bill Miller, Forbes' Wigan Depot Manager, will retire on 27th March, marking the end of an era defined by commitment, leadership, and genuine warmth.

For 18 years, Bill has been at the heart of operations in Wigan, expertly managing field engineers across the region and ensuring fast, efficient responses for customers. His ability to coordinate complex logistics - working seamlessly with the procurement team, depot operations, and head office - has made him an indispensable part of the business.

Bill has worked closely with our Procurement Manager Matt Malyan and the staff at head office to ensure that Wigan always maintained smooth stock flows and efficient loading processes, helping the wider team deliver consistently high standards of service.

But beyond his operational excellence, it is Bill’s personality that colleagues will remember most.

Always approachable, endlessly positive, and known for a smile that lights up any room, Bill has brought energy and humanity to everything he has done for the business. Whether in person or on the phone, he is, as many describe, “a breath of fresh air.”

Last week, Bill visited head office for a well-deserved send-off, where colleagues from across the business gathered to celebrate his career and wish him well for his retirement.

Bill Miller said:"It’s been an incredible journey over the past 18 years. I’ve had the privilege of working with some fantastic people and being part of a team that truly cares about what we do. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and will take away many great memories and friendships. Thank you to everyone who’s been part of it."

Kevin Herring, CEO, added:"Bill represents everything we value as a business—dedication, teamwork, and a genuine commitment to doing things the right way. His leadership in Wigan has made a lasting impact, not just on operations but on the people around him. He will be greatly missed, and we wish him a long, happy, and well-earned retirement."

As Bill steps into this next chapter, he leaves behind a legacy of professionalism, reliability, and kindness that will continue to inspire those who worked alongside him.
