Forbes Professional is proud to have helped Plymouth’s NHS Mount Gould Hospital with an urgent commercial laundry requirement this month. They contacted us needing fully industry compliant Miele laundry equipment with inclusive installation and commissioning. The equipment was required with an extremely fast turnaround as their existing equipment had failed and was deemed unrepairable.
We have been very busy throughout the pandemic supporting clients from within the NHS as well as the care sector. At this difficult time, it is absolutely critical that the health sector has access to WRAS compliant industrial/commercial laundry machines. All commercial washers must meet the requirements of CFPP 01-04 to enable the requisite disinfection for linen and deliver hygienic end results.
Forbes Professional’s Laura Spearing liaised with the hospital’s procurement team throughout the process and will remain their key contact going forward. She says, ‘We are often approached by clients that need efficient commercial laundry solutions delivered within a really tight window, and requirements for the healthcare sector are particularly pressing. We are proud that once again we were able to mobilise our initial response within 24 hours and ensure that appropriate equipment was installed when required.’
Established in 1926, we have established streamlined and efficient processes as well as long-standing relationships with our suppliers. Within one day of being approached we had conducted a COVID secure site survey to assess the access and utility supplies and ensure that we specified the right commercial laundry equipment for the hospital’s individual requirements.
Miele’s 20kg PW418 washer was ideally suited to this location and enables both sluice and thermal disinfection, to adhere to the stringent hygiene standards of the NHS. As we are national partners of Miele, our procurement manager Matt Malayan was able to ensure that we could deliver within the tight timeframes. Liaising with the hospital’s maintenance team, we used pump trucks and dollies to manoeuvre the weighty 416Kg equipment into place. Once sited, the equipment was set up and commissioned by our in-house engineers.
Installing Miele’s exceptional commercial laundry equipment will ensure that The Mount Gould Hospital meets their strict infection control requirements for linen. Going forward, the hospital will also be well supported by the Forbes Professional service team for all maintenance requirements.
Sharon Taylor, NHS Procurement Analyst says, ‘The interaction I have experienced has been professional with great communication and the site survey was arranged quickly resulting in the product arriving on the anticipated date. It’s been a pleasure working with (Forbes) on this.’
